I saw 1 Stop Kitchens and Flooring ad in the LA Times. Richard Nasr was the salesman who helped me. He was very personable and nice, prior to receiving a downpayment for services to my home. As soon as money was received, he was difficult to deal with and hard to get a hold of.
In general, we are not pleased with the work performed by Richard and his crew. I would never recommend their services to my friends or family. The price sounds reasonable, but you get what you pay for and buyer beware. The bidding process was very convoluded and shady. A bill of materials was not provided, milestone dates were not given, nor was a detailed description of work to be perfomed. A handwritten list of work was prepared, but when we produced a fully itemized list, he refused to sign it. We should have required it to be signed, prior to payment.
Demoltion started, but Richard never gave proper plans to the one worker assigned for this task. If we had not been on-site every day, numerous mistakes would have been made. Richard never took the time to make a through inspection and have a planning meeting with his crew. This was evident through the entire job.
They pride themselves on quality work and being able to deliver on time. Let me tell you that the work done by only one worker in particular was to our satisfaction, but all other work done - flooring, installation of cabinets, installation of granite countertops (in partiular) was not done appropriately and it was a struggle to get things done. Work was not completed until approximately 3 weeks after the stated completion date.
For example, our granite counters were not cut to specifications and since the tile flooring was not installed level, the cabinets and granite are sloping. 1 Stop refuses to fix this.
Another example, is that we ordered a Caesarstone countertop to be put in our bathroom. It was to be cut from one piece, but is two glued together, not our agreement. They refust to fix this as well and will not refund any money for this shoddy work.
They left our home in a semi-completed state. They refuse to do a final walkthough to see our complaints and will not refund any of our money. They left the work area dusty and damaged the floors (no drop cloths used) that they installed b/c they were in too much of a rush to get in and get out. The experience overall has not been a pleasant one.
I will never do business with them again and would highly recommend that you do your dilligence before ever dealing with these people.
