Worst Customer Service EVER!!
|
As of this writing Gainsaver still has their computer and my money.
For Christmas we decided we were going to get a family computer and make the big switch to MAC. After researching and researching Gainsaver by far had the best prices around and appeared to be reputable... I should have check this site first...
I ordered what was supposed to be a Mid 2010 27" I7 Imac which should have had 1gb of VRAM. Since I wanted to be sure since the price was good I called their sales line and really the girl was very nice, but I asked her are you sure it has the 1gb video card? She confirmed, took my payment and all seemed happy.
I received the unit in good condition... really, it was other than a couple of dead pixels. Then I started using it ... realized the microphone was dead and so I started to look at the specs in the about mac. Curiously enough it only had 512MB Vram and the Model numbers didn't match up... I cross referenced the model online to find out this was the 2009 version. So I sent in for an RMA which of course they wanted me to pay return shipping on. After loading down their service request system with emails they finally sent a UPS label.
I have yet to get an actual response from anyone email or phone... So I send the computer back sat and watched the tracking and then called when I saw that it was received. Called and they couldn't find it until I copied the tracking info to them ... which is strange since it originated with them.
I thought they were going to send me out the proper computer and that this was just an oversight. Apparently they never had the model that was advertised in stock and blamed it on apple. You would think that someone would do whatever to keep your business they they just said to submit yet another request for a refund.
I finally got a call from ma sales manager who confirmed that it was in fact the wrong computer but that they did not have the one I wanted... and did not offer any other suggestions.... only that they would process a refund...
All I wanted was a decent deal on a decent computer for my family... and now almost a month later my account is 1600 dollars down and I don't have a computer.
I complaint has been files with BBB for false advertising and shoddy customer service but nothing has happened as of yet.....
My advise, you may get a good deal if your lucky enough to get what you ordered and in good condition but I'm not sure all the discounts are worth the heartache... Go elsewhere, like mac of all trades or powermax. They aren't as cheap but have better reviews.
