I've been doing business with Hays Automotive for years and have been relatively satisfied. Recently I took a Toyota 4Runner in for a brake job. Within days after new brakes were installed they began to squeel. I returned a week or so later and Hays said nothing was wrong but they cleaned and adjusted the brakes anyway. A few weeks later the loud squeeling returned. I went back again, they checked the brakes but found nothing. The owner of the business told me that all Toyota's brakes tend to squeel!!! Really? I took the car to another independent repair shop and was told the brake shims were missing, that's why it was squeeling. They ordered replacements and installed them. No more squeeling. How could Hays have not seen the missing shims? I guess that might be why they have such a poor BBB rating (C-).
