No one should feel feel comfortable with applying for a job with a company that asks one to provide online a Social Security number and a date of birth, and asks that the applicant upload images of two forms of ID and makes the applicant apply for a debit card when applying for a job, even before basic eligibilty for the position has been determined. According to a representative of a major national bank, companies do not provide, in the ordinary course of business, debit cards to their temporary employees in order to make company purchases. They issue credit cards. If a company engages in these practices, the bank advised that these are not standard operating practices of most companies.
