Save yourself aggravation and do not order from this company !
I don’t normally write reviews but feel compelled to write this review in the hope that I can prevent someone from going through the aggravation I went through. I ordered a $4,000 + ring from worldjewels.com I did not do this lightly and read various reviews before ordering. I looked locally but really like a certain style the ring that I ordered so decided to take a chance. First, you should know that all of the diamonds are sold on this site are certified by EGL which is a European rating. These certifications and ratings are not accepted by any reputable jeweler. The clarity, cut and color you see on this site are simply not real. I ordered this ring because it was rated with a color of G-H and clarity of S1 for the main and VS for the side diamonds with a Very Good cut. The day I received the ring ( see below for the rest of that story) I opened the box and immediately knew that I was not receiving the kind of diamond I ordered. I could clearly see that the main diamond was very yellow and not clear at all and I could visibly see dark sports ( imperfections) which you should never see on an S1 ( or even an S2) clarity. So I took it to a local jeweler and he told me this wasn’t even close to a G-H color and not even close to a S1 clarity. In fact, he said it was closer to a J color and I clarity. So it was clear that what seemed like a good price was actually far from it. The quality of the diamond made this ring worth much less then I paid for it. I love how they send you an appraisal from their own shop stating it was worth much more ( in my case $9,000). Second, as many other reviews have said there is a serious lack of communication from this organization. It will have you believing that this is a scam which I am convinced of now. After placing my order I received an e-mail stating that once my order was approved I would receive another e-mail. I never received another e-mail. I needed this ring by a certain date and ordered it in plenty of time especially since they say on their web site it would take 2 to 5 business days to ship. After a week and I noticed the charge on my credit card I called to their customer service. I asked if they could give me a ship date and explained that I needed it by a certain date. The rep said he would put a rush order on it. I also e-mailed them numerous times and in that e-mail I explained that if I could not receive it by the certain date then I did not wan the ring. I never once received any response to any of my e-mails. I called again about two weeks after placing the order to find out the status and they could not tell me. I explained to the rep that if I could not receive it by a certain date I did not want it. A week before my wife’s party I called and they guaranteed me that it would be shipped by that Thursday. I never received any e-mail to say it was approved, it was being shipped etc.. So two days before Thursday I called and they said sorry but it would not be ready to ship by Thursday but they said it will be shipped by Friday and “guaranteed” me it would be received by Friday I explained t the rep that they should only call my cell phone since this was a surprise for my wife. A couple hours after talking to the rep, another rep called my house phone and left a message on my machine and there went the surprise since my wife listened to the voice mail. On Friday I still did not receive any e-mail with a tracking number so late morning I called to find out what time it would be delivered. You guessed it, it was never shipped and they didn’t even have the decency to call me or e-mail me to let me know it would not be shipped on the date they “guaranteed” me. I said I wanted to cancel the order. After about an hour I received a phone call back saying the rep talked to their “factory” and said they could rush it out today and I would receive it by Saturday ( my wife’s party). I said okay. It was clear they rushed this ring out the door. The engraving was not done and the main diamond ( 1 ct) was placed crooked. So I did receive the ring on Saturday but as I explained above, this was a cheap diamond not anywhere near the cut, clarity and color that this ring was advertised to be. For the type of diamond I received, I could have ordered this from anymore much cheaper. My local jeweler also said the side diamonds are not held on by any prongs and if one falls out they will all fall out. Very poor quality. I will be sending it back first thing on Monday and I already know from other reviews that this will be a nightmare because it will take months and numerous calls to try to get a credit on my credit card. They do not acknowledge the return. I will dispute the charge through my credit card. Save your money, time and aggravation. Do not order from this company. I guess if you don’t care about the quality of diamonds and overpaying for what you get, then by all means feel free.
